Mosaic’s Client Avista Utilities Awarded the CS Week “Expanding Excellence Award” for Best CIS Implementation

Renton, WA – April 27, 2016 – Mosaic’s client, Avista Utilities, was awarded the “Expanding Excellence Award” for Best CIS Implementation, Level I, at CS Week 2016. Mosaic was Avista’s training partner for Project Compass, a four-year Oracle CC&B and IBM Maximo implementation.

Preparing end users to effectively adopt CC&B and Maximo on day one was an important goal for successful implementation. In order to achieve that goal, Avista partnered with Mosaic to design and develop a role-based training program that included a blend of training delivery formats and materials, including web-based training, instructor-led training, self-directed system practice, planned activities and easily accessible job aids.

Mosaic worked closely with Avista in the design and development of over 25,000 hours of CC&B training for over 410 customer service and non-customer service employees, and over 8,000 hours of Maximo training for over 300 employees. Mosaic utilized a train-the-trainer approach to create super users and equip Avista employees to sustain training and employee development efforts in the long term.

“In order to get the strongest end user adoption, Mosaic helped us see the need to implement a more holistic approach to training, and then guided us in the execution,” said Pat Dever, Avista’s chief data strategist and co-executive project sponsor. “The result was employees prepared for the change, equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to use the new system, and supported for long-term sustainment through the use of performance support tools and structured knowledge transfer.”

The CS Week “Expanding Excellence Award” for Best CIS Implementation, Level I recognizes one large utility for a highly successful CIS project implemented during 2014 and 2015. Criteria for nomination and selection include budget adherence, schedule adherence, operational efficiency after go live, innovation and improved service levels.
