Director, Canadian Operations

Daryl Haynes

With more than 35 years in electric system operations—including a decade in senior utility management—Daryl Haynes has built a career out of turning complexity into clarity (usually with a whiteboard close by). His experience spans both transmission and distribution across the Eastern and Western Interconnects, with roles ranging from NERC-certified Reliability Coordinator to leading major control room transformations. He’s guided utilities through large-scale technology deployments like ADMS and OMS, developed operator training programs for both transmission and distribution, and is known for turning technical, business, and training needs into strategies that deliver long-lasting change. Whether helping operators adapt to new tools or aligning executives on operational change, Daryl brings a steady hand—and a clear diagram—to every challenge.

When he’s not helping utilities design what’s next, you’ll probably find Daryl outdoors on his property in Percé, Quebec, hiking through the woods or enjoying the ocean view. He’s also part of a six-generation lacrosse family, bringing that same mix of grit, teamwork, and strategy to his consulting work. Among his proudest accomplishments is helping a utility unlock real value from its AMI and SCADA systems by bringing together teams across operations, engineering, and customer service to build practical solutions. For Daryl, it all comes down to the same goal: making sure good ideas don’t just stay on the whiteboard—they turn into results.
